Makes me want to load a rucksack and head out. I have the version of the Ultima Thule as in the 1975 catalog; Chouinard made several styles over the years. Great photos and link.

Andrew, the pack is in great shape, but the shoulder straps are as hard as a rock. I think the foam got stiff. I do use my Rivendell Jensen as I don't use much modern gear when I backpack. Over the winter I hope to finish cleaning out my gear room and I can photograph my Jensen style pack collection including the Ultima Thule.
